September 8, 2009 Monthly Board Meeting

The regular meeting of the Rosendale Town Board was held on September 8, 2009 in the Rosendale Town Hall. The agenda for this meting was posted at the Town Hall on the bulletin board and the front door and at C & S Player’s LLC and on the town website: www.townofrosendalewi.com.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Tracy Swayze at 7:30 p.m. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Supervisors Jeffrey Miller and Ronald Goeden as well as Clerk/Treasurer Roxanne Tarnow were present. There were 5 electors and 2 guests present. A motion was made by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Goeden to approve the agenda. Motion carried (3 ayes). The minutes of the August 11, 2009 meeting were read by the clerk. A motion was made by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Goeden to approve the minutes. Motion carried (3 ayes).

PUBLIC COMMENTS
-None at this time.

CORRESPONDENCE
-Sign Permit Application
J & G Custom Cabinetry-W10271 Rose Eld Road
-The Town of Springvale notified us in regards to a hearing on Monday, September 14, 2009 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss rezoning five parcels that are now zoned as Industrial, but are being used as A-1 Agricultural. As an adjacent town we are invited to attend the hearing and express our views on this matter.
-Building Permits

-Pickett Steam Engine & Gas Club, W9975 Olden Road has submitted two applications for Temporary Class “B” Licenses for an Antique Tractor Pull October 9th thru 11th, 2009 and Tri County Drag Races on October 31st, 2009. All required fees have been paid and the necessary paperwork is on file in the office. The licenses are numbered T0409 and T0509.
-Fond du Lac County sent a Memorandum of Understanding relating to the Statewide Voter Registration System. The memorandum will be valid from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2011. This allows the county to handle all duties that are technical, logistical and process-related with the SVRS. The cost is $105.00 for the two year period. A motion was made by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Goeden to accept the Memorandum of Understanding. Motion carried (3 ayes).

TREASURER’S REPORT
The financial report was given by Clerk/Treasurer Tarnow. Vouchers 8998 thru 9013 were paid for a total disbursement of $68,929.72. A motion was made by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Goeden to approve the financial report as given and to pay the vouchers. Motion carried (3 ayes).

REPORTS
-The Town has received a check in the amount of $2,901.81 from Attorney Sorenson’s Office settling the matter with the damage that was done on Springbrook Road and Forest Lane. The issue is now closed.

OLD BUSINESS
-All road work and mowing has been completed. The culvert work on Olden Road that was to have been done by Fond du Lac County has been put on hold until next year because the cost of the project was higher than originally quoted by the county.

NEW BUSINESS
-The town received three sealed bids for snow removal. They were from Kopplin & Kinas, Professional Plowing and Ripon Truck Repair & Snowplowing. Kopplin & Kinas ranged from $87.00 to $97.25 per hour depending on equipment for a two year period. Professional Plowing ranged from $85.00 to $125.00 per hour depending on equipment. Ripon Truck Repair & Snowplowing ranged from $80.00 to $90.00 per hour depending on equipment. The board felt that Ripon Truck Repair & Snowplowing had done a good job the year before and were the cheapest and would award them a two year contract to run from the winter of 2009 through spring of 2011. A motion was made by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Goeden to award Ripon Truck Repair & Snowplowing the two year contract for the winter of 2009 through the spring of 2011. A change was made to the price of the sand and salt mix to not exceed $80.00 per ton. Motion carried (3 ayes).
-The town has some properties that are accumulating excess junk. The Town of Rosendale does not have a Junk Ordinance but Fond du Lac County does. Clerk Tarnow to get a copy for the October Board Meeting so it can be looked at. A possible list of properties will be discussed at that time and what action can be taken to clean up some of these properties.

Next meeting is set for Tuesday, October 13, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.

A motion was made by Supervisor Miller and seconded by Supervisor Goeden to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried (3 ayes). The meeting was duly adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
